The rainbow lorikeet - LIMITED
$93.00 AUD
Weather forecast: HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
There's nothing like a sweltering summer. And when the sun is out and the gums are blossoming, our neighbours get extra noisy. Summer to me isn't just heat and water. It's also when the lorikeets, rainbow and musk, hang out in the gum tree next door. Every morning and evening is a cacophony of sound. Unfortunately, the rainbow lorries are not one of the nicer sounding Australian birds!
The rainbow lorikeet is known for its bright colours of red, orange, yellow, green and blue. The black twist in these earrings is a nod to the Dreamtime story - How the Birds Got Their Colours. In the story, Australian birds started out black. It's a beautiful story - be sure to check it out. Plus I lovehow those colours in the tassel tail feathers pop with this dichotomy in these earrings 🙂
These earrings are seriously statement - the bird alone is 6cm long and the longest tassel will brush your shoulders. But being only one piece of acrylic means these earrings are very light weight. The tassels are super flirty and eye catching, swaying with your movements. I've also added a colour-changing bead for a bit of extra fun!
Surgical steel posts. Nickel-free jewellery.

Designed, cut, and hand-assembled in Australia and New Zealand. I work hard to ensure that each brooch is to a high quality and in a condition I would wear, but given that each item is handmade, please be aware that there may be slight imperfections due to variations in acrylic thickness, fiddly pieces, and the nature of glue and resin. These imperfections are part of the charm of handmade jewellery. You'll walk away knowing you're wearing my art, and only a limited number of people can do the same.
Maintenance: Acrylic is a hardy plastic, but can break if dropped or get scratched. Scratches can occur during the manufacturing process of the acrylic or assembly of the design, but these aren't noticeable in most lights. Handle with care and your brooch will last a lifetime :)
